One of my favorite things to do for the holidays is to plant Amaryllis bulbs in beautiful pots and display them all around my house. I love to give them as gifts to friends for their homes and teachers and administrative assistants to display on their desks or in their classrooms.
You have to plant them early. I plant them the first week in November that way I can give them away as gifts starting the first week in December. So whomever you gift your Amaryllis to, they can watch it grow week after week.
I shop for pots all year long, one of my favorite places is Savers or Goodwill I get some really cute ones super cheap and I am also re-cycling to help the planet which is an added bonus.
Try planting them this year, it’s so easy and it’s homemade everyone loves a homemade gift. Get your kiddos involved let them pick out the pot for the teacher and let them help plant it, they will love getting their hands dirty and watching it grow from a bulb to a beautiful flower.
